Terrible Mess

When I attempt to upload, my path reads this:

/home/couttsc/public_html/gallery/uploads/1

When I upload, I get this error message:

Unable to move file [/tmp/phplPBxAX] -> [/home/couttsc/public_html/gallery/uploads/1/Beach_Days_and_Sun_Rays_1.jpg]

How do I fix this?

It all started last night because I wanted to change my admin password and I've been in VB and PP hell since. This is why I need an admin person and would greatly appreciate any reputable contact.

Thank you for any assistance.

It appears to be a permissions issue on your /home/couttsc/public_html/gallery/uploads directory. Did you only change the admin password, because this would suggest the user changed or something about the ownership/permissions of your directories.

I changed both passwords then saved and then all hell broke loose. Right now in the edit config, the gallery password is the old one and the vB password is listed as the new one. I'm afraid to change it back to the old one for fear that I'd lose the gallery all over again.

Changing a password will not result in the loss of your gallery; however, it does appear that your settings are not setup properly.

Thanks Michael. I don't know what went wrong. First a line 186 flopped and then when I was fixing the corrupt file to upload a clean one, the power went out, the servers in PA kicked in and restored me but back to Saturday. It's just been a mess. I was thinking that changing the password back to the old one as it's the "new" one in the edit config might fix the problem but too chicken to try.

Well just backup your config file and then try it. The worst thing that can happen is it does not work and you set back the backup file.

You can create or change mysql user passwords in your server control panel and then update your config files in the applications with the correct mysql information.
