| Double upload page
Dear Support,
We are a photographers forum with vBulletin and Photopost software, and are reasonable unique to have those two combined togheter on our site for photographers in Holland.
Our members may upload one photo every 48hrs, other member are reviewing photo's and make there comments, now people whish it was possible to upload their changes on a particular photo, but normally it wil cost them one upload for this same, but changed photo.
We have been thinking, and we have created a DigitalDokaCorner category, but we want the members to be able to upload only for this special category one photo every 20hrs.
So we need to have a upload slot for every 48hrs and 20hrs, is it possible to make a copy of upload.php and upload.tmpl and rename them and run them thogether, or will this cause problems.
Long story and could have a short answer, but I wanted to tell the correct story so you would get an idea what we want.
Thank you in advance.
Gerard

Gerard there is an upload limit that will not allow people to upload more than x number of photos per day. That is per usergroup not category permission. If your trying to do anything else you would probally need to write up some sort of modification to allow that.

Chuck,
I know that with usergroups I can handle file uploads, we now have the uploadphoto.php modified for normal uploads, the line we changed (part of it): "]} AND date > UNIX_TIMESTAMP( DATE_SUB(NOW(), INTERVAL 20 HOUR) )"
Now we would like to change the INTERVAL part for the normal upload frequency to 48 hours, will this work, the Photopost admin menu for groups say "Daily" and is set to "1" so if I change the INTERVAL to 48 and leave the daily upload to 1 does this really mean users can only upload 1 photo per 48 hours?
from what I understand from you, it is not possible, or not advisible to have two seperated upload scripts?
One small question pops up in my mind, and I hope you can and will answer this one too: We have a monthly contest, people may only upload 1 photo to the contest category regardless of their daily upload, but I can't find an option thats says you can only place 1 photo in this category, is there a solution?

Yes you can alter the uploadlimit any way you wish 20hour 48hour it all works fine as your modifying the query time constraint.
There is no solution to that unless say you code up some restriction in uploadphoto that checks if a user has uploaded one photo to the category or not and then stops them.

Ok Chuck, thanks so far, I'm good with HTML but PHP, I'm not a wizard, so I'm not sure how to code a restriction, luckely our members are well diciplined and with no software restriction they, so far, do not upload more than one for the contests.
Thanks again for the fast reply Chuck (you are very busy replying to all the threads, are you working alone?), I wish you a fine day.
Gerard

I am doing well Gerard. We do do custom code modifications and you can inquire about such costs if you ever truly need changes to the code.

Ok Chuck, thanks and good to know the support is good and fast. If needed I will inquire the costs for custom coding.
I have a Super Moderator, he's 16 and very well in PHP, but we are very causious making code changes, and unfortunatly we don't have a test facility, another Photopost license and vBulletin license would make life easier because then we can test the changes we want without to worry if we interrupt the site or pherhaps may damage our database, but we can't afford another license of both, so we'll see what is going to happen. So far I have made small changes that really work well for us now.
