| I need Meta Descrtiption help
For some reason I am not seeing a meta description show up, particularly in the showgallery.php template. I'll worry about the individual photos later, but I really want the Category Description, or Intro Text to show as the meta description. I appreciate any help.
These are the only meta tags that show up...
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
<!-- no cache headers -->
<meta http-equiv="pragma" content="no-cache" />
<meta http-equiv="expires" content="Tue, 21 Nov 2010 05:00:00 GMT" />
<meta http-equiv="cache-control" content="no-cache, must-revalidate" />
<!-- end no cache headers -->
Thanks
Corey

Have you added meta tags in some head tags file?
I do not beleive our program has those by default since they would be coded by you to be specific to your site.

I am just using whatever is already in the templates provided by photopost. This is the section of code I am playing within the "pp-inc.php" file (line 778). I copied and pasted the bold meta code from another part in the template (line 753) to make it show up because it wasn't before.
<title>{$Globals['galleryname']} - {$titlereplace}</title> <meta name=\"description\" content=\"See {$titlereplace} pictures on our {$Globals['galleryname']} gallery. > {$titlereplace} pictures\" />
$contentmeta
$nocachetag
$headtags
$javapopup
$headslide
$stylesheet
$ajaxcode
$rsslink
</head>
I would like the <meta name=\"description\" to call the "category description" or the "intro text" that is added for each section in the Photopost Category Editor in the Admin section.
I hope I am making a little bit of sense. |

Currently as I see if we can not pass category descriptions etc into meta tags although it is a sound suggestion for a future version of the program.

What is the code used to display the "Into Title" and "Intro Text" on the showgallery.php page? If it's able to display on the page as text, it should also be able to display in the code where I need it.
I basically want <meta description = "$introtext"> or whatever the proper name is..

Well if you place straight coded meta tags in your headtags file I am sure it would pick that up sure but otherwise keywords etc would need to be passed to the printheader function and right now there is not that ability.

Okay well your initial description is a bit fuzzy then. Send a complete description of what you want to show in reviewpost on the showcat and showproduct pages when viewed and then on photopost when showgallery and showphoto are viewed. That way I can give an accurate quote and we are on the same page. There is nothing I hate more than after the fact someone saying no I meant this.
Reviewpost for instances passes info to the meta tags so changes there are most likely going to be minor. Photopost is the one thats going to require more work.
