Recent Photo bar gone when user uploads to private album

Hi,
Recently a user created a personal album and made it "private". She then uploaded several photos, the last few being to her "private" album. When a user arrives to the site, the Recent Photo Bar is no longer present.

How can I prevent the bar from disappearing just because the most recent photos were uploaded to a private album?

Shouldn't it show the most recent "public" photos?

Our Photopost featured photo block does not show albums in any form

Albums are cattype a so they are not even pulled into the results.

Chuck, please read my question again. Your answer does not address my problem.

The problem is: the Recent Photos Bar is gone. Please see Punch! Alternatives.

I understand it's not supposed to show private photos, that is good, but why isn't it showing other people's photos who aren't private?

I did a test:
I uploaded one photo to a regular category, then logged out. The Recent Photo bar came back with one photo in it. It's set to show 4.

I logged back in and uploaded 4 more photos to my private album. I logged back out and the Recent Photo bar disappeared. Even the one photo that was in it was gone.

This is happening to several users!

You sure there is not a conflict with whatever wrapper stuff your doing?

Hi Chuck, I think you were looking at the wrong gallery. The gallery is the Punch Items gallery. I've attached an image.

The problem lies with uploading to the Private Albums. It's causing the Recent Photo bar to disappear. Once I start uploading to a regular category it comes back.

Please post both license numbers for those installs so we may provide you support. I am only finding one license and you have two gallery installs which is a violation of your license so before I can provide support we need to remedy this issue.

Chuck, I don't know what you mean to Post both licenses. I'm under one domain and have always been.

Same problem to me. After uploading to a private album the feature (newest photos) shows only one pic. Couldn't it show some other non-private photos like before?

The newest photos show whatever photos in categories a user has permission to see. It does not show album photos.
