Sorting now inconsistent after upgrade

I have just upgraded our gallery at dpnow.com to the latest version of PhotoPost pro here at:

Main Index - DPNow Photo Gallery

Unfortunately, the image sorting options now behave inconsistently.

Try selecting sort by 'rating' for 'one week' and you'll find every pic that's been posted shows up as having been rated - even though they haven't, for example.

Any ideas?

All Images - DPNow Photo Gallery

It works that I see if I am in a gallery it sorted by rating 10 to 0 or 0 to 10 whatever order you select.

OK, I think the confusion is that if you use sort by rating, unrated images will be shown if they are in the date range selected.

Also, if you change the sort parameters and, say, you are on page 3 of a previous view, the new view remains on page 3 instead of going to to page 1.

I'm only responding to confusion that has been reported by some of my users.

well sorting by rating does not mean its not going to return 0 ratings it is just a sort meaning it will sort from 0 to 10 and 10 to 0

If I am on page 3 and change a sort the sort is changed and you stay on page 3 thats correct.

We are still running an earlier version of PhotoPost on our other sites and they do not show un-rated images when sorting by rating.

I really do feel that the developer of the code needs to be more consistent in functionality from one version to another. The positioning and style of the function buttons (Edit Photo, etc.) is another case in point.

I dread upgrading because each time I find things rearranged of the behaviour of routine functions changes, and that generates complaints from my users :(

Please take this as constructive criticism.

Well on the other side of the coin if things did not change there would be no upgrades.

Of course, I'm not against improvements and bug fixes, but I see too many changes being made in PhotoPost as being changes for change's sake, introducing no new benefits and confusing existing users in the process. Meanwhile, requests for apparently simple functionality, like (for example) being able to have exif display permanently switched on if required, are not granted.

feel free to offer constructive criticism and suggestions in the suggestions forum for that product. I do not develop the gallery products I do the other products we sell.
