Comment Fields not Showing up

Hi!

Our gallery is having an issue with comment fields not showing up when users are moving their images from the member gallery to album. For instance, a customer states that she moved an image from the member gallery into an album, and none of the formatted comment fields showed up.

I have received complaints of this before, but I thought perhaps it was an older image that had been loaded before I had actually set up the fields. These are new - just loaded a few days ago and the moved to a new album. I have gone in and verified in the category configuration that the fields are there.

Moved Image: ibach-william-sarah-reduced.jpg from 500 to 605.

what do you mean by comment fields?

If your talking about additional extra fields per category that kind of data is not moved when you move a photo. Since those additional field arrays are stored per category if you move a photo to another category you break all that info. Those same fields do not exist on the new category and there is nothing to show. Further albums do not have any extra fields in any manner.

Thank you so much for getting back to me so fast.

I thought that when I set up the categories globally and clicked the "apply to all children", that this would mean that the extra fields would be available no matter what album they selected.

I have gone in to all the categories and have double checked that the extra fields are there - so I am confused as to why they are not available when moving images.

Should this user have not "moved" but "copied" to the new album? Is this a solid solution?

Albums do not have extra fields.

Extra fields the first 6 you can define for all categories sure. Additional extra fields are defined per category and if you move a photo that data is not transferred.
