get config to save its settings

I've been upgrading vb and set up a test forum running alongside my live forum, duplicated live folder, set it up with new vb files, created duplicate database with different name, amended cookie to tvb in vb's config php and then amended PP pro's config_int and config_inc files to the new second db and paths. i had a problem when i went to pp admin and edited the config and integration it kept tryign to write to original folders.

I now cannot access my original PP installation, i did not alter their config files, everything is as before but when i try and get into the admin panel it takes me to the testing site.

Re uploaded correct versions of config-inc and int into the live folder and its still going round in circles, how do i fix this please?

finally sorted it, edited the database pp_settings in the live database to exactly match the inc and int files, checked all paths and permissions and it sorted itself out....
