Rebuild Thumbnails clarification

If I 'scan database' and select 'rebuild thumbnails' - does this resize all the thumbnails to the same size if I previously uploaded thumbnails with different size settings?

Additionally, I am on hostmonster, and as far as I understand, they're not the most forgiving with CPU time - I figure that img resizing is fairly cpu intensive - is there a chance that rebuilding thumbnails with a gallery of thousands of photos will exceed their CPU quota?

I can not respond about any limits on your host as I would have no idea about your hosting limitations.

As far as what scan database does yes if you elect to rebuild thumbs it will rebuild all of them.
