Cookie trouble with logging in? We were having an issue with Vbul in which you'd try to login, it would say "thank you for logging in" and reload the login page, and you woudln't log in. Cookie path had been set to root ("/") and they suggested trying an alternate path. So I set the path to /forum/, which is the only other "auto" option the vbul cpanel offered. We then found that this caused people not to be logged into Photopost and in some cases, to have the same refreshing login problem but only for the gallery. So I realized I probably have to do the same for the photopost settings, and so I did (set the path to /forum/). This doesn't seem to have alleviated the issue though (cookies have been cleared on affected systems with no improvement). Do I have to go back to the original. This seems more common than the original problem. Many people are having this issue. |
You can not set a cookie to /forum/ and have photopost be logged in in any manner since your restricting that cookie to your forum not site wide. This will assist you http://www.photopost.com/forum/photo...-problems.html |
Well, if I set it back to simple "/", and add the .[mysite].com domain, do you think this will aid in the "login just reloads the login page" issue I was having? Also, I was personally occasionally having an issue of clicking "logout", having it refresh, and still being logged in - kind of the opposite issue. Noone else complained about it, but they may not have noticed or just not said anything. |
Both your forum and your photopost application must be set the same for a cookie to work over both like so. cookie path / cookie prefix bb (usually is this but need to check your config file in vb) cookie domain .yoursite.com This makes a cookie sitewide. |
