Exif data

The latest version of Photoshop (CS4) has an option to preserve the exif metadata when saving a JPEG using 'Save for Web and Devices'. I have installed the latest version of JHEAD (2.84 (Oct 4 2008) ), but the metadata is not reproduced in the gallery, but it is verified in Adobe Bridge and Photoshop itself.

An example is here:

Autumn leaves - DPNow Photo Gallery

Has anyone experienced the same thing and is there any fix? Save for Web produces lighter files and some say with better web colour.

JHEAD also has extended options that should be able to display more metadata tags. How can I access these so the extra data can be displayed in PhotoPost?

I am not familar with Photoshop or how it does things but if I do have jhead setup and exif set to be extracted and upload an image with exif data it is extracted.

If you upload a photo with exif not done in photoshop does it work?

You mean 'no familiar with Photoshop'?

Yes, no problem with most images that have exif data. It's just images saved using Photoshop 'Save for Web'. Earlier versions of Photoshop stripped the information, but the new CS4 release of Photoshop now lets you preserve exif data, but JHEAD still can't see this data from PS CS4 Save for Web images.

It's probably a JHEAD issue, but I was hoping someone had found a fix.

I know that JHEAD has some options that can be triggered at execution, but I'm not sure if or how I can choose these options within PhotoPost.

This is right in image-inc.php.

Now the issue I see it would be with PhotoShop program you need to know more about what that program does to know how to counter it. Like remember years ago there was the adobe photoshop bug and IE so everyone was told to use save for web and also in programs like ours you used jpegtran to strip the headers of the images so things worked.
