| PP 6.2: different header on index page than other pages
Hi
I am testing currently with a stand alone PP 6.2 installation.
I would like to achieve, that the header on the index page of photopost will be a differnet one then the header if i.e. a user clicks on a photo.
The reaosn why is that I want to display a specific slideshow (moostools) in the header of the index page, but this constantly moving slideshow would irritate, as soon as users are browsing through images within PP.
Currently I put the code for this header slideshow in the header.htm file. But because of this, it displays on every page of PP.
How can I avoid this?
Where do I need to put the code for the index page to show the slideshow above the navigation bar of the index page only?
Thanks in advance

If you want to use category specific headers you need to create new headers for each category and place the server path to the respective files under edit categories for each category then they will load not the global header.

Hi
thanks
this worked for all categories, except the member galleries. As soon as I change there the path, the header on the normal index page changes too.
How can I avoid this?

setting a different header for the members gallery changes the index header? That does not exactly sound right to me.

update:
Chuck has found the solution:
Go in pp-inc.php and search for: Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
Delete these 4 lines.
That's all. Now it works properly.
From now on, the header path configuration works as it should work. The header of the main page (index.php) can show something different then the header of member galleries (if you typed in 2 different paths of course).
Without this deletion, the header of member galleries will overrule the header of the index.php page.

Hi
this code works excellent on one of my pp installations. But the same code in another installation does not work (both PP veriosn are the same).
The header is there still the same as on the homepage. I made teh exact same changes in pp-inc.
I also tried to compare other files I recently changed in both, but there are no differences except a navigation bar in the header with mootools.
I am totally lost.
Do you have any idea what a reason could be for this different behaviour?
I will send you to both links by mail.

Hi
I just found out, that this code does not resolve yet the problem on all gallery pages. Although I use this coe successfully for all categories, the wrong header still shows when I click to use the following features:
search
last day / 7days etc.
userprofile
favourites
albums
Login
Ho can I make sure that also on thsese pages it uses the same header I have made for my categories?
Thanks in advance

Those pages DO NOT USE A CATEGORY id at all as they are not categories therefore they are going to load whatever default global header you specify under global options.

mmmhh, ok.
I have a slideshow in the "normal" header (header.htm) and therefore need a solution not to show this slideshow on the mentioned pages. How can I do this then? Which files do I have to edit and how?
Or is it easier to make a special header only for the indexpage with that slideshow and in the normal header.htm no slideshow at all? If yes, how do I do that?
Thanks in advance

I guess you would have to create some modification to your code. Not really sure what you mean about slideshow because as soon as you hit a photo to view it your in a category.
