Default Thumbnail view in showgallery

How do i set deafult layout to THUMBNAIL... even though i set at highest level category and apply to subcategories... the default is never THUMBNAIL...

Everytime someone uploads and creates a category... then i have to go and reapply... i don't even want them to select an option... i only want thumbnail layout...

You can the default layout for a category under admin => edit categories for the categories you wish.

i have tried this but when i create a new subcategory.... it still shows the different layout options

well when you create the new category you must set your default view type.

Is there any way in the code that i can force it to always have "Default thumbnail layout? = Thumbnail"

I never use the other options and my moderators ALWAYS forget to select thumbnail when they create a new category which is weekly...

In Admin => Edit Categories there is setting underneath each category that one can set the default view just select thumbnail.

Hi Chuck,

I have successfully set this option in Admin => Edit Categories however if I view the gallery its always gallery view. If I return to double check the admincp its still set on Thumbnial view for my category. Why isn't it applying the settings?

Steps I've taken: I've logged in as another user to view the gallery, I've logged out completely to view the gallery, I've used a different broswer, I've created a new album and confirmed the settings but nothing seems to work. It only works if the user sets it while viewing the gallery.

Are you using all the latest files?

I dont see any issues with this functionality in our default downloaded code
