Exclamation Slow Gallery

Hi,

Its been one month now that my photopost gallery is slow when moving thru pictures and categories. My vb forum is running fast but once I enter the gallery it becomes really slow. The admin pages are fast like the forum. Can any one help?

Cheers,

PhotoPost Performance FAQ

This might indeed assist you and you might want to put actual links and maybe a test user login here for users to view your site and comment.

Thanks.

May I add my severe problems here as well:

Since four weeks now (and at about 10.000 photos) our gallery dramatically lost speed and therefore our users tragically visit only for a short look and leave then. (Due to our rare photo-themes we had up to 2.000 viewers per 30 minutes before, now there are about 100 viewers per 30 minutes).

I installed all latest versions of apache, php, Imagemagick, mySQL, vB, and photopost, no chance to get it back faster again.

It seems to me that first it hangs for some seconds, then brings the empty frames and then is takes up to one minute to load one page. I have to add, that speed varies.

The only thing I noticed, since I have these speed problems, is that CPU-Load is rather high, with peaks up to 80 or 90 percent (Windows 2003, P4, 3 GB Ram).

So I enabled MySQL_slow_log which gets about 1 to 3 entries per second of this kind:

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.

The home of our gallery is:

Haupt-Index - SAGEN.at FOTOGALERIE

I would be very happy on advise

Kindest regards

Wolfgang

I would be curious to see what that site is speed wise on a linux server but none of those examples above show a slow time?

None of those queries above are slow queries

They all are limited by a limit statement a field or a date range.

I really have no other suggestions for you except to read the thread link above and feel free to turn off specific features to free up resources.

Thanks Chuck,

I will try to disable some more of the PALs. At the moment, I am very happy to hear from you, that the slow-log isn't monitoring a problem!

Kindest regards from Austria
