Amount of characters showing

Is there a way of changing the amount of characters in picture names that are showing on the index page? The default shows too few, so that names are abruptly cut off when there are more space available.

That would depend where your talking. Its a matter of taste really. If your talking the photo blocks then in the function display_gallery in pp-inc.php around line 1222 you would need to change the 20 on this line to something higher

Indeed a matter of taste. Thanks again for a quick reply, Chuck. Maybe this would be something to consider implementing in the Admin Options? I don't want too many thumbnails on the index page, and thus I get space for longer names.

That would totally depend on what your asking exactly and where. There is no limit to the comment entered as its a text field
