Permission problems

After a server migration, I am unable to upload any photos due to lack of permissions.

It keeps giving Error creating thumbnail! Error code: 1

and

Warning: copy([path]image_name.jpg) [function.copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in [path]gallery/image-inc.php on line 327

Is there an easy way to restore permissions? There are hundreds of folders, and I don't want to change permission on each of them manually.

If you recently moved servers this thread might assist you. You need to ensure permissions are 777 on data and uploads at every level.

You can also in global options and storage options in admin set the proper paths for uploads and data directories as those would change in on a server move.

How to Move Servers and/or Change Directories

Well, not really a server move - but from a PHP4 to PHP5 server (same host) and back again because of PHP5-incompatibility. After that, this permission problem surfaced. Any idea?

Our software works fine in PHP 5 I have ran it on PHP 5 for years.

My suggestion is to check what I have noted above. Check that your permissions are correct on the data and uploads directories. make sure in global and storage options the paths are correct in admin\

if you still have an issue check your phpinfo and make sure your PHP safe mode is off.

I know PhotoPost works fine on PHP5, it was other parts of my site that wasn't compatible. I'll check what you have noted. Thanks, Chuck.

Mostly likely a server path change is the issue.
