Correct we are talking two different things. If your talking about the category avatar on the main index you would need to set an actual index avatar. I was referring to the last photo avatar on the actual members gallery which is the link I posted.

Correct it is a category avatar and you must set this.

by the way did u run any query in vb which enabled full WUSIWUG for ALL users ? if so i dont want that i want all to have extra formating controls

I did not run any queries in vb. You can set in vb what controls you want.
