Deleting pictures to make room. Question ...

I have close to 70k images being hosted on my server. I know one can delete images older than x number of days. Is there a way to delete images that have less tha 3 comments or have not been viewed in x number of days or are from inactive members? This would really be helpful. Maybe even have the users flag images they want to keep somehow and delete the others.

Thanks

No sorry the only purge included is by days. You would have to delete photos one at a time if your trying to do it another way or view a specific member profile and hit the delete all photos from the user link from some inactive user you specify.

Why can't we use more settings for the purge option? I think the above question is a real valid one. Just compare it with the options that vbulletin gives with removing/purging/finding topics.

It would really help me out when I could use more options to purge, like:

* max/min amount of comments
* max/min amount of views
* max size

Right now, with the given options, it's difficult to administer a gallery with a few years of uploaded pictures.

Is there any way that this (basicly sorting) options will be added to a new version?

Feel free post suggestions in the suggestions forum. Michael will not see wishes like this posted in the support forums themselves. I can not say what will or will not be included in the gallery software although most long time customers can tell you alot of the features added are user suggested.

I to would love to be able to delete pictures by 'min number of views'. Trying to find and delete images one at a time when you've tens of thousands of images is ridiculous.

Could...

- max/min amount of comments
- max/min amount of views
- max size

...be added to the search options, at least that would help the administration of the gallery.

Just had a think and realised I can obviously search by views (max or min) in the database. Okay it's definitely not the best option for removing old rarely viewed gallery images but at least it's better than using the extremely limited Photopost Admin tools.

Am I'm I being stupid, I think perhaps I am.

By deleting the database record in pp_photos I'm not actually removing the image from the server am I, I'm just removing the database record for that image.

Is that correct Chuck?

Yes that is correct removing database records has nothing to do with actual physical images

You can purge images based on date and category in the photopost admin otherwise you would use the approve photos option and view images and select which ones to delete.
