Linking to Large ?

Hi Gang,

I was wondering if it is possible to have a code box for linking to large images in the gallery?

My users like to link to the gallery images and post them on our vBulletin forum.

And when I say linking, what I mean is that members can post the large full size images on our message board.

Thanks,

-Chris

well the functionality for links to the main image are there if you dont use medium images. If a medium exists then the link is a medium. So if you wanted to have both then no you would need to hand code in something extra there.

Thanks Chuck,

I must say I prefer the old interface where there was the button to copy the BB posting codes. Because of the design of the new system, I held back upgrading to the newest version on one of my sites as I didn't like the new style little icons and code copying interface. Finally for security reasons I was more or less force to upgrade.

So I wish the way the code clipping system was closer to the old format.

As far as the new version goes, on mine you get the extra options if you are viewing the small version and click extra options icon, but if you're viewing the larger images all's you get as options to post a thumbnail link.

I wish it would just get streamlined to where you had the links on any size page and also that we had the old style code copying buttons back. The new system is simply confusing too many of my users.

Chris not everyone likes everything about every version for sure. The copy buttons simply do not exist anymore they where way too buggy never worked for most people. As far as the icons you can in admin show photo options enable them or not. If you turn it off there will be the normal text links.

You're right Chuck, you can't please everyone all the time - it's true.

As far as changing the icons to text links, on my gallery, I could only figure out how to change about half of them. I gather that's the way it works? Some appear as icons still, some change to text links?

And as far as the forum posting code, I think if it was an option, or changed, so that the code appeared so that you could link to the largest image that would be good. And also, having the posting code only appear when viewing certain size images gets confusing.

So here's what I suggest...

Below each image regardless of size....

>Thumbnail Link Code as now
Click on icon for more options.....

-Code to Link to small size image
-Code to Link to medium size image
-Code to Link to largest size image

Chuck, I am not sure but somehow I see no reason at all why the links cannot/wont be shown for the sake of a 'better' design. It was a plain bad move to remove the embed options, specially from the large image size page and specially when the photopost module is integerated with a forum like vB. For me and my members its extra clicks and thats wasting our time.

I do not feel I spent my $39 dollars on renewal at the right place - frank opinion from a frank customer. Will help it make your product better though.

I feel the same need for the old BB posting code. Don't understand why it was removed.
