How to disable auto thumbnail feature...

I was wondering if I could somehow disable the new auto thumbnail feature, as this creates a problem to us, as we need to upload the same index picture every time we update a category...

Auto thumbnail is one of the new (cool) features 6.1 has, but, honestly, is there any way, either an option or a code change so as to be able to prevent this from working...?

I do beleive Michael made a slight change to image-inc.php to compensate for this try redownloading the code and reupload that file.
