PP 562 & vb 368 integrated: How to delete users & photos

Hi

I am using PP 562 integrated with vb 3.68.

If I delete a very old user in vb, the images of that user and his username continue to exist in PP, because this was formerly a stand alone version of PP (no integration before I imported those users into vb)

Now I need a quick guide how I could delete these outdated users of PP in the PP-database via phpmyadmin. Both, username and their photos shall be deleted. I can organise a list of the usernames (ca. 1500 usernames), but I do not know how to use this list to be able to delete this in the database.

I guess there must be a kind of "search & delete" command in phpmyadmin.

Can anybody write what the command (and in which field) this would be to delete both, the username and the images he uploaded?

Thanks in advance

Snoopy if the username and userid are still associated with the user in Photopost you could use the script link like so which can delete all photo and comments per user

http://www.domain.com/gallery/adm-ca...elphotos&uid=1

whereas uid would be the userid of that user. That way the actual photos on disk would also get deleted

mmmhhh,

this sound like this then would have to be done one by one.

I have around 1500 users I want to delete, so I would need a kind of "mass delete" possibility otherwise it would take weeks to delete them one by one..

Or did I misunderstood something?

Thats one by one.

Now I can give you a way to via mysql delete photos but they wont be deleted on disk though

You can rescan database resync the username and the photos should be assigned to userid 0 and empty username

You could then issue a query like so

DELETE FROM pp_photos WHERE userid=0

DELETE FROM pp_comments WHERE userid=0

If you are logged in as admin if you view a users profile in photopost and then hit statistics you will see an admin options box that has the DELETE ALL A USERS PHOTOS link.

Hi Chuck,

I will try to do some test over the next couple of days regarding mass delete users & photos as described above.

Assuming I first move old user which I want to delete within vb into a new usergroup. I then refresh the usergroups in PP. Third I then delete in vb all users in this usergroup.

What happens then in PP? How does PP react, if users do not exist anymore in the db of vb? Does this crashes PP or what will I see with these non-existent (in vb) users in PP?

Thanks in advance

Nothing happens. The forum and photopost do not interact with each other in that manner. Photopost if the user is deleted will think the photos are orphaned.

Hi

if photopost thinks that these photos are orphaned, is it then not displaying these photos at all or is it displaying these photos with the name "guest" or is it displaying these photos as nothing would have happend with the username as before?

Is there a way then to mass-delete these orphaned photos?

Thanks in advance

If you resync names in photopost admin I am going to assume it is going to say guest. Thats a very broad question. The only way to delete photos in mass by userid is how we have already described in the program.

There is no way to mass delete orphaned photos.
