You'll have to be very patient with that. It may take up to 6 months to get your images indexed. The google bot for pictures is different than the bot for text.

thanks for your advice chabbs, however i have been patient for many long years already now...

i need to know what is involved in the settings configuration, in order to achieve maximum results with google...

i have about 50,000 photos, NONE of which are coming up in google.

the way i have it setup, you must register to view photos...
this encourages more new members...
can google still see the images to index them or do i need to change this setting?

Google can not see your images if you restrict viewing to only registered members hense your never going to see anything get indexed in google images sorry.

You might want to ask google there specific policies on how to get better indexed but first you need to let guests view your site.

i removed the required registration for viewing images...
now it's going to take another 6 months before they get indexed or is there any more secrets to getting them indexed faster?

thanks for your help!

It will take time Rob and there isnt much you can do about that. You can make sure you enable spider urls so things get indexed faster but google images is something different than google and again your gonna have to inquire with them on their policies but indexing sites takes time to get up the ranks.

In terms of getting it indexed quicker unfortunately there's not much that you can do. Ranking is a different issue. Optimizing your images will help. Here are some pointers for you; mentions of the picture topic is important, for example: renaming the file with the name of the topic, adding alt and title tags with the name, surrounding text with the name, URL and title of the page, and finally incoming links to that image page. Making the SEs understand what that image is about is key. In all that I mentioned renaming the file is probably the most important for image search optimization. Ranking in the regular SERPs would need more of what I mentioned.
