"Upload Photos" not showing up.... Chuck, I have a member that is telling me the option to Upload photos isn't showing up in the photo gallery. http://www.themidwesthunter.com/gallery/ I obtained his login to verify and he's right....it's not showing up. Home · Search · Profile is all he's seeing. Upload Photos as I'm sure you know, should be to the right of Profile. I'm guessing that something happened when we integrated the gallery into the forums, but I wanted to ask you 1st. This is the 1st time that I've heard of this since the integration, so I'm not sure if this is going to be an isolated instance or not. I checked his permissions through vB and his usergroup is Registered as 99% of everyone else is, so there should be no issues with permissions or usergroups. Help. |
Check what usergroup in your forum he is in and then you will know why he does not have an upload thing. maybe he never confirmed his account and thus he is not in the right group. You can administer your users within your forum admin panel. |

Seeing that he's been a member since early '07, he's uploaded pics to the gallery prior to the integration before and that his usergroup is the same as the others who are able to upload pics....... I'm going to venture to say that somehow his profile got hosed during the integration. I'll probably have him register again and then merge his old usename data into the new and see what happens. |
well what I am saying is since all user info is in your vb database if you use your vb panel and look up that certain user what group is he in? Move him to your registered usergroup or another group you wish that has posting priviledges in your gallery |

Yes....I covered that above. He's in a usergroup that has permissions to post pics to the photo gallery. |
If he is in a usergroup that has permission to upload photos then he should see a link. You can pm me a link with an admin login and the user login. |
Well....I guess that I had my info completely screwed up and opposite of what I thought. It seems as though, "Registered" users which is the main usergroup doesn't see the Upload Photos option. Now that the photo gallery is integrated into vBull, where would I go to give them permissions or to view what permissions have been granted to what users for the photo gallery? |
Like stated without knowing more what group this is I cant respond more definitive but you need to view this user in vb and see what group he is in. You can either move this user to some other vb usergroup that has posting priviledges or as noted in photopost edit usergroups you need to set priviledges as you wish for the various groups. Since your integrated with a forum users usergroups and info have nothing to do with Photopost we only assign permissions based on a users usergroup. Most likely if you used vb's impex script to import user info from some other forum they users groups might be imported groups not the normal usergroups. |

I PMed you with the info for you to log in. Did you do so? Did you happen to see anything? This is a struggle for me because when I go into vBull admin panel, I don't see anything....anywhere that pertains to giving any usergroup permissions to post pics in the photo gallery. Usergroup Registered is the usergroup that is having issues which contains 576 users. As of right now, Admins have the ability of post pics in the gallery, but not usergroup Registered. In the admin panel of PhotoPost and at least everything that I've seen, the usergroups are setup and ready to allow people to post. I'm stuck and have no idea what's going on. |
http://www.themidwesthunter.com/gallery/adm-index.php You set permissions here in edit usergroups and you did not have the groups set correctly. |

Thanks. |
Apparently you where still trying to set permissions like this was an internal standalone install not integrated with vb. I simply cleaned out old usergroups and imported the new ones and set permissions accordingly like you where setting upload permissions for usergroup 4 to upload but registered in vb is usergroup 2 |
