I have two problems...

The first is, my forum's server got trashed the other day. So it was restored from that days current backup. It appeared that everything was fine with the forum and PhotoPost. But when you look at images in the gallery, only the thumbnails and small-medium images are available. When you try to get the full size image, all you get is an empty place holder for the image with the image name in the upper left corner. Any ideas on how to fix this?

The second problem is that I finally got around to trying to use the enhanced VB integration. My PhotoPost database is separate from VB's database, but uses the same username and password. So I followed the directions on how to do this... Checked and rechecked it several times... but all I get is this.

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Don't know if there is any relation to the first problem, but I'd sure like to get that fixed. I commented out the enhanced integration for the time being, so you can't live check it on the forum.

Thanks for looking...

well you have not given us any links to look at but my suggestions are these based on your reported descriptions.

1. Make sure the server paths and urls are correct in global options then under storage options check that these are also correct. If all current one more thing if you use on the fly watermarks make sure the overlay watermark has the correct server path including filename where asked in admin watermark settings and is a png image and is viewable.

2. That error can only mean one thing in the directions for that mod to show the block as you noted you must uncomment on all $link and mysql_select_db lines in that file noted and put in the proper database info. In admin edit integration you must also have the correct mysql table prefix when asked for it as well in there.

Before the server was restored from the backup, everything in PP functioned correctly, with the exception that I wasn't using enhanced vb integration. Post backup, none of the settings were changed. So the paths should be the same. Everything seems to work as advertised except that PP won't display the full sized image. It displays thumbnails and medium sized just fine. I checked the /data directory, and all the images are there.

// If you have placed PhotoPost into a seperate database, you will need to
// uncomment these lines to connect to the PhotoPost database. It is suggested
// that you install PP into the same database as vB for better performance.
//
// If you use the same userid/password to access both databases, you don't need to
// uncomment the mysql_connect - this is only if you require different ids to access
// the PhotoPost database.

All of the database user id's and passwords are identical. I've tried with the mysql_connect uncommented and with the user id and password inserted as well as commented out... with identical results and the same error messages.

When I try to back up the database through PP, I get this...

Here are all of my config files. I've edited out user id's and passwords [checked many times to make sure they all match] and colored that text red.

Two notes

In inc_features your not uncommenting the $link line look there is still // at the beginning of the line.

As far as backup make sure in global options your path to backup is correct and the directory is 777

All of the database user id's and passwords are identical. I've tried with the mysql_connect uncommented and with the user id and password inserted as well as commented out... with identical results and the same error messages.
I've tried it uncommented with the user id and password entered [same user id and password as the pp database] and commented. The exact same error messages appear.

But on to the more pressing issue. The full size images don't display. Only the thumbnails and medium images. No settings were changed pre or post restore. It worked flawlessly prior to the backup.

Something screwy is going on here. All the paths are correct. The server is in the same place. PP is reading the database to get the user info, thumbnails and medium images, but it won't read it to display the large images?

My first response is the correct answer as the directions note you must uncomment all the link and mysql lines and fill in the proper info. You must also have your photopost table prefix entered where asked in edit integration in admin

Next for large images make sure also you go to storage options in admin and hit revert and save twice to load the global paths.

The directions note that if you use the same userid/password to access both databases, you don't need to uncomment the mysql_connect - this is only if you require different ids to access the PhotoPost database.

My userid and password is exactly the same for my vb database and my pp database. Nevertheless, I've demonstrated what uncommenting the $link lines with my userid and password contained in them does below.

$link line uncommented in both places with correct userid and password

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
$link line commented

Code:

This appears to have fixed the problem with the large images not displaying. Thank you.

all of the problems? You fixed your large image. If you have backup issues doing what I suggested by entering the proper server path and setting it to 777 permissions would fix that.

Also in our discussion on this

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Properly uncommenting that line making sure all the info is correct in that file and also in admin => edit integration making sure you have the correct table prefix for photopost there would help.

That error tells us we cant connect to the photopost database so if you have different databases your photopost info goes up top there you uncomment those lines and all the way down the bottom on the last mysql_select_db line you input your vb database
