Show Thumnails with titles as default

How do I make thumnails with titles as default while entering a gallery?

In admin edit categories edit your categories and select that view as the default not gallery

By the way, where do I change the size of the icon picture for the category on index site?

You cant it is half the size of the thumbnail. You could search the code in pp-inc.php and find the code .5 where we set the avatar height width and change the .5 to something else but thats a mod. there is no option for what you want.
