Recent comments

Is there a way to have the recent comments appear on the gallery homepage but have all comments from a specific cat (501) excluded?

Only if you modify the query for that block with some sort of mod like add this to the query

AND cat != 501

Not in a template try looking in your index.php for the recent comments query.

Sorry to bother you again Chuck but this is not working for me.

When I use the code above it stops the whole of the recent comments section from showing. I checked over the code and noticed that elsewhere on here you have recommended using

Content visible to verified customers only.
the difference being the inverted commas around the cat, so I tried that as well. Again I got the same results.

Finally, to be absolutely sure, I tried it with a different cat (as the one I want to block is currently not open) but again I had the same issues.

I don't know what I am missing but I would appreciate any advice.
