Slight Problem

Hi all,

I just made a new user with a new password to my forums database. Now, when I enter the gallery, I get the following:

Quote:
Could not connect to User databaseAccess denied for user 'user_Jason'@'localhost' to database 'user_my_database_name'
However, the gallery uses a different user, but in the same database as my forums. The information is correct in my config-inc.php file, but it just seems to be looking for my old forums user. Any ideas?

try updating your config-inc.php file with the proper new information to the forum database under your user database info.

So, use my current user and password that I use for my forums? I really don't know how it can stop working, since I use a complete different user and it is added to the forums database with all privileges. Anyway, I'll see if using my forums user works. Thanks.

EDIT: No, that didn't work. Strange. It seems to be looking for my old user, in which I deleted. My forums are working completely fine, however.

Correct you deleted your old forum database user which your using in photopost so of course you cant access the forum database now.

You need to update the photopost config with a proper working database user connection to the server for things to work.

Your photopost config file under the user database portion needs the correct forum user access

Hi Chuck,

I really am confused. I have just tried the same user I'm using for my forums, and still it cannot connect and I receive the above error. I even created a new user, and updated my config-inc.php file -- still the same result. As I said earlier, it seems to be looking for the old user that my forums database used, now I don't know if there is anywhere else to edit, other than the config-inc.php file.

That error tells me explicitly in your config-inc.php file you are not inputting the correct information to connect to the forum

sorry but thats an absolute error you must update the user database settings with a valid user.

Hi Chuck,

Seems I missed the following:
Quote:
MySQL username and password to access user database
I was only editing the one above, for user and password. Never saw that option hehe. Thanks.

Have a great day!
