Uploading mp3 problems

I am trying to set up a podcast directory and when I upload a MP3 to the directory I get this error. Could someone explain how I can get this working so that I can upload MP3 files?

Unable to read the format of file: /home/mysite/public_html/gallery/data/518/MePodcache24for12-15-07.mp3

I figured out how to upload a mp3 file.

Now I need to assign an image to the MP3 file that I am uploading. It does not allow me to assign and image to it. This means that when I view the category it does not display an image at all.

How do I assign an image to a MP3 file?

when uploading a multimedia file it allows you on upload to upload an optional thumbnail on the second upload step. You can edit the file and upload a thumbnail.

I have done this twice with 6.0 and I do not see no second upload step where I have the option to upload an optional thumbnail. Where is this step because i am not seeing it?

It is on the second stage of upload bulkupload script. where it shows the multimedia thumb there is a box for optional thumbnail.

I am not doing a bulk upload. I am only uploading one file. Do you mean I have to upload more then one file in order to attach and optional thumbnail?

No not at all I uploaded an mp3 file on my gallery and it will automatically go to the second step just as I have stated and you will see optional thumbnail.

Hi,
I have uploaded an mp3 file but Photopost thinks it's a video and tries to play it as a movie.
See URL: http://tabouda.com/showphoto.php/photo/86

I see no issue on that page it opens and the mp3 is played inline.

The message line below is the standard message displayed for all multimedia to download you can of course edit your language file to change the wording.

Chuck,

I am wondering if this is a bug or not.
It displayed a Windows Media Player plugin and it's why I couldn't play it. This is when I was viewing it with IE.
I swicthed to Mozilla Fireworks and it prompted me to get Quick Time. After that it started working on IE as well.

actually Chuck, I was just reading this thread. In Firefox, mine loads quicktime, and in IE, well, there was a windows that stated "click to activate and use this control' I clicked and nothing showed. I do have the audio on autoplay "on' so I do hear it. I attached the screen shots of what I am getting for both browsers..
here is my link to the one song.

I guess that must be specific to whatever media tools you have setup on your computer for each browser I guess.

I bet you are right. I just need to figure out now why IE does not show any kind of player, but plays the file. I reinstalled quicktime, but no changes are apparent.
