Need Help With Watermarking

I cannot get the watermarking to work correctly. I have tried png and gif using on both Image and GD2. I have tried with the on-the-fly setting on or off. I have tried with watermarking set to on and what user groups I want water mark images set to. If I use a png watermark image then the watermark is viewable on jpgs only, but a png image wont display. If I use a gif watermark you cant view any image. I have yet to get a download image from my favorites to be water marked. Can you give me a little help here, I certainly would appreciate it?

If your using Imagemagick you use a gif image and GD2 you use a png image. Watermarking on the fly needs GD2 and a png image.

If you can not figure it out email support@photopost.com with an admin login url and the paths to the watermarks and I will help you out.

Chuck thanks for the reply. The Imagemagick and .gif image does not work at all.
Using a GD2 and png watermarks only jpeg files. If you have a png image on the server to view you only see a blank box and no pic or image.

Also when you download your favorites aren't they suppose to be watermarked? If so they are not, regardless if you are using Imagemagick/gif, or GD2/png setup. I can untick on-the-fly and tick yes to watermark and setup what usergroups and nothing is watermarked.

If you still need my login info, let me know and I will email you the info.

**EDIT** I tried to remove the / after the data in the path file and looks like I blew out all my large images in my data folder. All I have are the medium ones left. Unfortunately there was no backup.

Chuck I will get back to you on this. I am rebuilding forum and inter grading the forum with vB instead of having it in its own database. Something I should have done in the first place instead of going the other route.

1. If you use permanent watermarking ( ie Imagemagick and a gif ) and have it setup it will work and images downloaded will be watermarked.

2. On the fly watermarks are an overlay and images are not truly watermarked hense you download them or view them directly there will be no watermark on the photo. As far as png not being watermarked try this.

Watermark.php on-the-fly vs PNG

I would be glad to help as stated if you email us the info to assist you. As far as your server data path you must have a trailing slash on there.

Chuck

I have both on-the-fly set to off. I have watermarking on and setup in cat. When I upload I get this error and my image is a gif and set to Imagemagick and a gif .

That tells me you have GD2 set as your processor in global options and then your watermark needs to be a png.

Those are GD2 functions on your error which prove you have selected GD2

As I stated prior you are free to email us at the email posted with the pertinent info to assist you.

Yep and I replied. You definately are using GD2 as your processor and tried using a gif image. Changing it to the png image solves that issue.
