categorie thumbnails

I have categories, no one is allowed to post there, just in subcategories. I would like however to display thumbnails before the category name and description. How do I do that?

You can not display a category avatar if a category contains no images.

Thanks. Another question concerning thumbnails: For each category which has images, one can select a thumbnail. Otherwise it does not show. Is there a way that a thumbnail is generated automatically without choosing one? A random thumbnail or maybe the first image in the category?

and...

I discovered when you add an image in a category, make it thumbnail for that category and afterwards remove it, the thumbnail will still be there? Is that correct?

I think could be nice show as a category thumbnail the last image added to that category (automatically of course)

No if you remove the image the catavatar can not be shown, The feature works as noted you would select an image from a category you are viewing and when viewing the photo hit MAKE INDEX THUMB.

Hi Chuck

Crewstart are right, I did the same on my site.
I moved an image to the Main Index, and clicked on make Index Thumb and then moved the picture back where it belongs and I can still see it and use it for Main Index Thumb.

You can see it here, it´s in danish but it is the the 3 thumbs in the middle.

yeah its a cheat

Because the images you can tag as a cat avatar are limited to a category you can move a photo tag it and move it back. Once the tag is in place no need for the photo to be in the same cat.
