| Choosing Categories when Uploading photos
Ok, it was a long flight today so I hope this makes sense.
I would like to remove the option for folks to upload to the member gallery. I want them to have to choose a category for their photo so that a copy goes in that category. This way, the photos get sorted into the correct category and a copy goes into the member gallery anyway.
Is there anyway to do this for the albums as well? I would like it if when someone uploaded to an album, they had to choose a category as well. That way members could see all photos of the same type, regardless if it is in someones album or not.
I hope this makes sense.

You can not make an upload go to a cat and an album. You can enable optional categories in upload options in admin and users can optionally upload to a second and or third category.
If you do not wish users to upload to the members gallery you can remove the upload permissions in Admin Edit Categories under permissions.

Hey Chuck, thanks for the reply.
Actually I want users to be able to upload photos. I just want them to have to choose a category to put them in. I want all photos that are uploaded segregated into the categories I have created. If they are lazy and just leave it in the default "member gallery", This will not happen. However, if they choose a category for the photo, the photo gets listed in their Member Gallery anyway. So, if you look at the picture I attached, I would just like to remove the option of "Member Gallery" from the Category choices. Is this possible? If not, I guess I could just occasionally review the new photos and assign a category myself.
Thanks for the time.
Jake

Why not remove upload permissions for every usergroup under edit categories in admin for the members gallery and that will force them to choose a category to upload to.

Ahhh...I see. I was thinking usergroup permissions not Category Permissions. Thanks!!
Uh oh...Ok, I just tried what you said (I believe) and I was able to upload a photo into member galleries regardless of how the permissions were set. See picture below for how I set up the permissions. Shouldn't this keep me from being able to upload a photo into member galleries?

Well try as a test user. Admin has rights to see all cats regardless of permissions.
