Please help! Lost my Photos

Ok my gallery now is http://picturetokyo.com/gallery

When i had bought the installment i asked that i be to /gallery2

They had done that and i was under the understanding it wouldnt be a problem to rename the gallery once i had all the photos uploaded and ready to go to /gallery.

I finished and changed the filepaths in the admin and then changed it to /gallery. but i have lost all my pictures. please can someone help me get the photos back. The photos are still in the data folder. At first i could view the pictures but when you clicked on 1 to make it bigger it went away. So i went to rebuild the thumbnails and photos and when it got done all was lost

help please!

How to Move Servers and/or Change Directories

Correct it would appear you did not update your server paths as noted in this sticky thread in this forum. Only way to get photos back is to restore a backup of your sql database pp_photos table. Do you do backups as part of your regular site maintenance.

The website was just created and I did not do a backup. The photos are still in the data folder http://picturetokyo.com/gallery/data/

Is there anyway to upload the photos from each data folder? say like http://picturetokyo.com/gallery/data/537 etc

You can attempt to do a bulk upload if you do not have backups.

Here are the steps I would do.

1. Rename the data directory to dataold.

2. Create a new data directory and set that to 777 permissions. Now you need to upload the photopost upgrade script to your server. Run upgrade.php and select the 4.85-5 upgrade script and run steps 1 and steps 2 dont worry about any duplicate errors. Your running this to create the data directories for all your cats all over again so you can upload to your data directory. You can ftp to the server and make sure your directories where all created. If so go to next step.

3. You can go to upload screen select the proper category and hit the skip upload checkbox and fill in the proper server path to that specific directory say if you where uploading to your category 537

/var/www/html/gallery/dataold/537

Then hit submit and it will scan that old data directory for images to upload. You can then fill in titles descriptions when the program processes the files. You need to do this for every category to get those photos back since you dont have backups. When you have everything reuploaded you are safe to delete the dataold directory.
