Database Question

Ok, here is what I did. Hopefully there is an easy solution.

I upgraded my Vbulletin installation a couple of weeks ago. When I did this I changed my database name in the process but did not delete the old database. What I did not do is change the Photopost config to reflect the new database so.... Several pictures have been added since the change and I just now realized that my new database is not being used by Photopost. Photopost is still using the old vb database.

I started this thread to ask if I should just import the Photopost Tables from the old database into the new database, change the config file to the new database name, and call it good. However, now that I think about it, it might be ok just to continue using the old database as a separate photopost database. Is this possible? If so, what are the photopost tables so that I can delete the unnecessary VB tables and vice versa.

Thanks.

well why not make it easy. In your photopost config you can point the user database info to the new vb database and leave photopost to use the old database. so essentially the forum is in one and photopost in another. You can delete and clean up the old database of old forum tables and just leave photopost in the old one.

or yes move the photopost tables to the new database and change both sections in photopost config to the new database info.

Yes...That is what I will do. Thanks Chuck. See, I wasn't even tracking that I needed to point the user database to the Vb forum. I'm such an amateur. Thanks!

OH...btw. Is there a simple list of photopost tables that I can use to weed out the old forum tables?

well there are more tables now as that thread is a little old but they are usually prefixed with pp_ which makes them easy to distinguish them.

Adding a prefix to your PhotoPost tables

Unfortunatly, I did not prefix my tables...UG. I'll cross reference it with a table list from my old version of VB (if I can find one).
