members being logged out right after login

hi, im getting allot of complaints from my members saying that after they log in, it takes them back to main opening page and doesnt log them in

what settings on my photopost or mayber server (have dedicated server) that i could look at that would cause this problem for so many different people?

well lets begin here. Can you login and are logged in? If so then maybe your users are not allowing cookies. If you are integrated with a forum my suggestion is to make cookies set like this

cookie path /

cookie domain .domain.com

If you post a url and test regular user login here we may be able to post a more direct answer.

now i am getting users saying this:

I'm not sure if it's the site or my computer, but it's extremely hard to stay on the site. I'll go to the gallery and it'll just send me back to the introduction screen. This is not the first time this has happened eaither, Any ideas? Great site by the way, other then the problems i've been having.

i got this from about 5 people so far

i have no idea why its doing this to them, for me it works fine, and i dont know how many other people are having this issue because im sure most people just give up and dont even contact me about the problem

Sabrina if your able to login and say you ask some your friends they can login I think its just an issue with these users not allowing cookies in their browsers or maybe have them disable norton. They need to allow cookies to login.

chuck, i still have people with this problem, see here what the problem is that they described:

im always logged in and it still does it, i logged in and checked the Remember Me box. I even went as far as to go to my friends house and tried it on his computer, on my account and his without any virus protection or firewall programs running. i went through the whole upload process and after it went to my gallery none of the photos were there. I can see my city now but i have to press stop a lot because if i let the site load it brings me back to the start page. im sad


do you know why the page would load and then redirect by itself ?

this specific problem, people viewing certain categories on the site , they tell me the page automatically redirects them to the main index gallery page


it doesnt log them off, it is just redirecting people ?

Okay well your initial thread here makes no mention of this being an upload issue. Your saying they are logged in fine now but they try uploading and just go back to their gallery with nothing uploaded. Well two things the new photos if uploaded will go to the last page of their photos as I beleive the default sort is oldest to newest. Anyway so is the file they try and upload over 2mb in size? If they try and upload a file larger than PHP allows the server will drop the file and there is nothing to process.

If you login fine and can upload then I would suspect that is their issue. They are not reporting errors they are reporting they try and upload a file and they get taken back to the gallery right?
