Question! :D Hello all I have a general question that you guys/gals can help me with. Okay I have forums A and Photopost B if I setup Photopost and then import my old gallery into it. Then I wanted to link my forums and my gallery together will there be any problems about the members that already sign up in the galleries? Will the programs work together even if the members are in different members listing programs? Are is there a way to port over member in to my forums database? Thanks |
Well I guess your answer would depend on more information about your setup. If your gallery integrated with anything? Is the forum you want to run have some import utility to import users from what applications you currently integrate with. So please explain in details so we can respond. |

"We don't support integration of the Photopost gallery with vBulletin, you're better off asking for help with this from Photopost." So I guess I'm back to you guys. When I brigde the two programs do I have to put the user from my member listing into vBulltin's member listing directory? If so how do I go about to do that? Also will the users still be able to update there galleries? |

There guys are something over there in vbulletin site. They have an IMPEX importer which can import the vb users then you can do a install of Photopost to integrate with vb userbase. We can answer you any photopost questions but they can explain and support their own product which also includes their impex importer. I do suggest you can even quote this to them over there so possibly they can get Jerry to answer any questions you have on their software. It is quite amazing over their meantion the word photopost and they always send you here even though your support question has to do with their software not ours. |

Well this is what I would do. 1. Use vbulletin impex to import photopost users. (THEY NEED TO SUPPORT THEIR SOFTWARE NOT US ;) ) 2. Backup your photopost database. Reinstall Photopost to integrate with vbulletin. Make sure before you do that to clear the Photopost users table and usergroups tables in your photopost database of any entries before you begin. 3. After Photopost is successfully integrated with vb use this script I wrote to update the users userids since the vb impex script will change them. Then you should be fine. http://www.photopost.com/forum/photopost-pro-import-scripts/115240-reassign-userids-when-switching-integrations-vbulletin.html |
Great Chuck! I sent a message over to VB and I let you know what they say. Thanks for the help and doing a great job here on the forums. I and I think many other do as well. Be Well! Quote:
