How to Manually Select Items for "Featured Photos" Option?

Hello, I've been working on getting PP integrated into a vB installation for a while now, and the last thing we'd like to do is have the "featured photos" box at the top of each page only display images that we favorite or designate as such.

Is there a way to specify only a specific category to show up there, so we could just tag the images as we see them and they'd get put into rotation? If there's any way to do it I'd love to know before I try to write it by hand. Thanks in advance.

Hello there is no way in the present code for you to do something like that unless you create some modification yourself which you are free to do.

Thanks for the quick reply. If it's set to show the most recent uploads I'd imagine there would be a way to just make that use the "?cat=" function instead of "&sortby=d" correct? I assume that's how it's set up anyway, if I'm missing something please let me know.

Your talking featured photos they dont work like that. Your thinking this is like showgallery script and it is not. The featured photos is in the display_gallery function in pp-inc.php.

Your free to modify the code in any manner to suit your needs and you may alter the queries in that function to only pull photos from one category.

Or if your just wanting to modify the featured photos that show on the forumhome the file is inc_features.php and you may modify the code.

Adding something like this to queries might work

AND cat = 521

Sorry to drag this back up, but I have one more question about this. I've tried adding the code you suggested to the bolded section of inc-features.php and it didn't work:

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Did I just add it to the wrong section? I'm a bit lost about this section of code I'm afraid. Any assistance would be awesome - I can take this to the mod forum if needed though.
