previous - next image size?

I like the thumbnail size setting I have in the index page. Is there a way to make the show photo, previous and next thumbnails a different size? I need them to be smaller than my normal thumbnail setting?

Nope thumbnails follow the thumb size in upload options and is a global setting

If I can't change the size of my thumbnails is the show photo, next and previous area, can I change the quantity of thumbnails displayed there?

No you may not change anything in their through switches etc. You would need to modify code from the default
