Hi, post comments issue

OK, before my users could leave comments and rate others pictures but for some reason they have to click "Post Comment" and then there's no text box allowing them to do this. Also look at that small square which appears next to comment.

Looking at your picture I would have to suggest to go to admin and set permissions in the edit usergroups and edit categories and admin options areas all included in admin of photopost

In Edit Usergroups "Allow comments?" is permitted for all usergroups, in Admin options "Allow users to post comments?" is also enabled and in Edit Categories there is no option related to comments as such however the "Usergroup Access Permissions*" is selected for all usergroups and still nothing.

Originally users were able to post comments now I have no idea what's happened.

Where is this who section?

I can't seem to spot under General/Edit Settings/Administration/Database/Image Protecton. Plus I am logged in as "admin".

View the image. Within Edit Usergroups: SuperMod/Admins have access to the admin panel. So surely this means any changes they make should take immediate affect?

yes any changes an admin makes will update things yes

Back to the discussion you want to set commenting permissions in edit categories here is the line

These checked usergroups can post to this category,
unless a usergroup's overall posting access is disabled.

Hi Chuck,

I assure you under Member Galleries and Main, both are set to the following usergroups: Registered/Admin/SuperMods/Moderators but still no luck.

Do you wanna take a look yourself?

What ticket? :s

I sent you an e-mail, I gotta response from someone asking me to verify my ownership of the account so I did, then they asked me to e-mail you directly to have the settings tweaked. That was the end of that then.

You need to tell me what ticket your referring to as the only thing I remember out a name smiggy is some email you sent to customer service to have an email changed on your license

I'm referring to my issue I stated in this very thread. You said you'd look at the admin panel and find out if there was a problem with the settings or not. I e-mailed you the details. Yes, I had my requested to have my e-mail add to my subscription updated but that wasn't you as the agent asked me to e-mail you directly to get the issue resolved.

If you're asking me to confirm some referrence number which was allocated to that case. I don't have it. But I don't see why I have to since you can recall recieveing the e-mail and I didn't submit no ticket! :S

You should know what my main concern was anyway by reading this thread. I sent you an e-mail with my details to see if the settings were correct or not.

Forget it now anyway, I worked it out. It was a hacked called vBSpell which disables the comment option. I read it somewhere on VB.org. Might wanna note that down for future referrence.
