| How do you prevent unregistered users viewing images?
I've installed it with my vBulletin forum and for some reason guests can view the images. I've altered the settings but to no avail. I have spent countless hours trying to work out what's the problem but now I think something went wrong with the installation.
Can I forward you my server details to fix this as I'm going to be out for the remainder of today.

You set viewing permission for each category for viewing in Admin => edit Categories

| similar problem but the opposite
I integrated with Vbulletin and my unregistered visitors are unable to see the gallery and I would like them to see it ! (could before I integrated).
Chuck I've edited the user category info and that doesn't do it. Also unchecked the other place, can't remember where it is, that says only registered users can view.
the site is www.scrapbookexpress3.com/photopost

| Yes but
unlike the original poster of the thread I *want* unregistered folks to see the gallery. :-) So I have exactly the opposite problem that he has but neither of us seem to be able to change it.

Actually he wanted to make sure guests CAN NOT see the images so you would not want to follow the advise in this thread. If you want guests to view images you need to set viewing permissions in admin edit cats for them to view and then also in registration options in admin make sure the option to require people to register before viewing images is set to no.
That should be it to make things work like you want on your site.

| still not viewable
Chuck,
I've checked all of the settings as you suggested and unregistered viewers still cannot see the gallery. Any other thoughts? Wrong write permission on a php module?
Can you tell me the location of the variable in the database that controls this display feature?

Out of curiousity why do you have the vb3enhanced display off?
I cant say because without seeing how your setting things as admin the advise is still what I post above. As long as permissions are set guests can view the gallery fine. There are many vb3 examples here is my site you should be able to view my gallery. http://www.reeftalk.com/gallery
You would need to email support@photopost.com with admin login and the url of your gallery and post this thread and ask them to check your settings.

Thanks Chuck, I'll open a support call and send them the info.
I had the vb3 enhanced option turned on but thought I need to tweak it a bit and don't have time right now so turned it off until I have a little time.

No problems we should be able to steer you in the right direction once we have an admin login to see what you did.
