lost all my images

I had some database issues and now the gallery says I have 0 images. This happened before but it was a long time ago. Is there something in the control panel to fix this?

There is no way to fix that except to restore a backup of the database before you had the issue that caused you to dump your images

When you saw no images and ran a scan database to rebuild images you dumped them because the path was not right on your install. To get images back you need to restore a mysql backup of the photos table otherwise you need to start over.

I didn't run any scan of the database yet. I haven't done anything to fix this, yet.

well how did you lose your images

You say you had database issues

The point I am trying to make here is it really doesnt matter how you got in the predicament your in but to resolve it you need to restore a backup of your mysql database.

If you dont have that then you need to start over. Site backups are something everyone who runs a website should have. If you dont then you risk losing everything and starting over if something happens like say database problems.

I havne't mentioned anything about site backups. of course I have backups. I'd rather not have to use a backup if I don't have to.

Thanks for your great support!

Doing the exact OPPOSITE of what you suggested, I had my site up and
running in no time.

Your advice was right on target -- telling me to restore my entire
database, when merely 4 tables simply had to be 'repaired'. Again,
having NOT listened to you, I lost no real-time data on my site, and
have not had to rollback anything.

Now that my website is 100% functional, without having had to restore
my database, I think I'll go ahead and try to repair your lack of
support:

Next time someone comes to you with an isolated problem, how about
instead of hitting your canned response button, you actually read what
they wrote and get back to them with something worthwhile.

Had I come to you with an OS problem, specifically something like
Minesweeper doesn't save scores, would you have me format my entire
computer, too?

Rest assured these strings of email and "support" will be made heard
and your advice, specifically, denounced.

Thanks again!

You did not give us any links or nothing to work on at all. You got advise on the error you reported. You said you had no images in your install so restoring the database or in particular the photos table is the right course of action.

I am glad a repair worked for you no doubt my advise to look at your database and restore tables got you to see what your specific issue could be rememdied by a repair instead
