Path problem

Hi I am facing a problem.

<<< 1 >>>

My host server is down and now for the few days he changed the path for my hosting site from ...

c:/abc/xyz/xxx/

to

e:/xyz/xxx/

Now no matter the photopost is working but it is showing the stats as ...

Statistics
Users: 176
Photos: 0
Comments: 4
Disk Space: 0.0mb

No matter the photos are lying at ..

e:/xyz/xxx/gallery/data/

I have changed the new path at all the locations in adm-index.php -> All Options setting webpage.

In few pages when doing admin setting it also gives the following error message (similar to that)

Warning: opendir(e:/abc/xyz/xxx/gallery/data/): failed to open dir: Invalid argument in
e:\xyz\xxx\gallery\adm-inc.php on line 589

Warning: readdir(): supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in
e:\xyz\xxx\gallery\adm-inc.php on line 592

Warning: closedir(): supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in
e:\xyz\xxx\gallery\adm-inc.php on line 609

As you can see in the above error no matter I have changed the path from

c:/abc/xyz/xxx/

to

e:/xyz/xxx/

it is taking a part of the old path i.e. /abc/from the old path.

Where else I need to change the path.

<<< 2 >>>

Will I be able to recover or show all the photo's after solving this path problem.

thanks

The link you wrote says something like this ...

8) Change storage options.
- Be CAREFUL here.
- If you changed directories you should see the NEW directory listed in "Default PATH setting".... This is where I got confused.
- The OLD path (from the previous server) should be listed under "Current PATH setting"

Here no matter my old path was ...

c:/abc/xyz/xxx/

but the "Current PATH setting" is showing it as ...

e:/abc/xyz/xxx/

And yea the "Default PATH setting" is ok any is as per my server current path.

Probably this is the reason I am not able to see the photos. But now how can I change the "Current PATH setting" from ...

c:/abc/xyz/xxx/

to

e:/abc/xyz/xxx/

-----------

Notes:
- Don't forget to change your DNS information on for your selected host.
- If you just changed DNS information, it will take 24 hours for any links to your old URL to start working on the new server.

I didn't get it.

thanks

Well your path has to be wrong somewhere or you already deleted your photo entries by running a scan database before changing paths

At any rate posting a url here will help us answer you correctly

What if by mistake someone ran scan database before changing paths, what am I supposed to do now to show those photo's still residing in the /data directory.

thanks

Yep well as with any site backups are a normal maintenance. Just restore the Photos table for Photopost from one of your mysql backups and your photos will reappear. You deleted the photos mysql table entries not the files in the data directory. You need both for a working Photopost
