showpoto.php killing the server

For the second time in a week I have been "shut down" by my host. They are saying that I am using too many resources. Here is the email they sent:

This email has been sent to notify you that web access to one or more of your
Site5 hosting accounts has been blocked due to resource usage issues.

Web access has been disabled on the following accounts:

thephotostation.net

Upon being notified by our monitoring systems or by other clients located on the
same server as you, we began to look into resource usage issues caused by your
account. Please be aware that resource usage is NOT directly related to
bandwidth usage and/or disk space usage. Resource usage is composed of CPU
consumption, RAM usage, disk I/O usage, concurrent Apache connections,
concurrent MySQL database connections and other system-intensive procedures.

After reviewing your sites and performing an analysis of your resource usage
over a period of time, we have determined that the following aspect(s) of your
account are the likely cause of the excessive resource usage:

Top Process %CPU 68.0 /usr/bin/php showphoto.php
Top Process %CPU 56.0 /usr/bin/php showgallery.php
Top Process %CPU 55.0 /usr/bin/php showphoto.php

I have not changed anything on the site in some time. Is there something I should do to try to fix this problem? Needless to say, my users are getting tired of this.

You can try turning off certain features like next prev thumb previews

well I dont think there are any speed enhancements between 5.61 and 5.62 but you can try downloading the new code. My initial response would be to turn off the next prev thumbs under showphoto options

You can also in pp-inc.php set $showsqldebug to 2 and it will print on every page the queries and timing might help you see where your bottleneck is.
