Mysql times out

When I do a backup of my large mysql database using MySQL Administration Tool. It will work when saving an uncompressed file but if I try using zipped or gzipped it times out to a web page not found error. Do I need to increase some kind of mysql memory or packet size?

You are not asking a support question about the photopost code it would seem

If your elsewhere and you have a timeout basically I would suggest you have your host look at it especially if your talking about your sites control panel they may have to alter things a bit for you
