Permissions Issue I have a site that has more than one level of permissions and/or memberships. My issue is I have registered member that pays our fee and become a "Premium Member" the random images on the vB boards index will then no longer show up because they are now considered a "Registered Member" and a "Premium Member" but when I remove one of the memberships, then it returns and is viewable, but I wont be able to do this on all my members. Any suggestions on how to correct this or is it correctable or did I miss something? Thanks in advance |
If you setup your subscription in vb correctly to move the person into the premium member group you should be fine. Now to my knowledge our latest incarnation of that file checks all sub usergroups fine and has for quite some time. You just need to ensure your viewing permissions are set as you wish in the edit categories section of Photopost because that is what we check. |
Fixed it Thanks Chuck  But just in case anyone else wants to know, I found my issue. When you have membership levels like I do, you have to create categories for your non-paying members and their images must reside within those non-paying members categories for them to show up for everyone on the vB index. They will not show up just by having them in "User Galleries" they must be listed in categories. If anyone needs clarification you can ask and I can be more specific. |
You can also always update your code to the latest version which has an updated inc_features.php which also pulls photos from the members galleries ;) It has for the last 9 months so maybe your files is older |
it does for premium members Hi Chuck, You are correct. It pulls from both if they are a "premium member", but if they are just "registered members" it just pulls from the photo's uploaded from other users, which I have set as free images. I appreciate your help on this. Also, if anyone has or is trying to do this you will need to go to the paying user group, in my case it is "Premium Members" and click edit user group and scroll down to "User group Options" at the bottom and click "Yes" on the one that says "Allow Users to have Member Groups (Sets whether or not permissions from the user's member (secondary) user group memberships are inherited or not)" This will allow that user group to see "All" random images on the vB index even though they have two user groups listed under their user name. Took me forever to figure this out. :D Now that it all works, I have to say "PhotoPost" is the number one photo sharing software in my book and I am in no way a coder, and very much a novice. |
Me Again In User groups, what does "Mod Access" do? |
That is moderator access |
Duh! Thanks Chuck I wasn't really sure. |
