Inc_Template on forumhome

I tried to install this plugin to have a random picture block appear on my forum home page according to these instrctions:
PhotoPost Featured Block Plugin for VB 3.5
http://www.photopost.com/forum/showthread.php?t=122207

Tried creating a plugin using the vBulletin plugin manager and set it to start in forumhome and added the code that was downloaded into the text box.
Then I edited forumhome template and added the following:
$header
$navbar
$photopostfeature
Then added the $photopostcats under the forumbits section
Received the following message when I tried to load the forum home page:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /home/archeryb/public_html/forums/index.php(63) : eval()'d code on line 1

Can you tell me where I went wrong?

Thanks,

JF

You sure you just added a plugin you did not edit your index file in any way right?

http://www.reeftalk.com/forums/index.php?

Does it work if you take out $photopostcats because that has nothing to do with the plugin you are including in the post you link.

I didn't touch the index.php file.

But, I really don't know if I did the plugin correctly, especially the hook location.
Here is a detailed description of what I did.

Went to vBulletin CP/ Plugins & Products/ Add New Plugin/
Type - vBulletin
Hook Location - forumhome-start There are a lot of choices there, not sure if this is correct!
Title: Photo Block
Execution order: 5
Opened the plugin code that I downloaded with dreamweaver and copy and pasted it to the text box.
Plugin is active - Yes

Was this done correctly?
I'll try it again without the $photopostcats, but do I still need to edit the forumhome template and insert $photopostfeature underneath
$header
$navbar

Is that what calls in this plugin?

The plugin you can actually upload and it will install correctly in the vb plugin manager. It is forumhome_complete where it needs to be

Hi Chuck,

I see, you just need to import it. I did it and added the $photopostfeature under the $navbar in the forumhome template and it worked!
Yesterday I couldn't spell programmer now I are one.

I want to ask how can I enable members gallery pictures with the packaged inc_features.php for external page inclusion.
Are there any drawbacks from removing the c.cattype = 'c' from inc_feature.php?

It will show album photos if you do that.

Not sure what you mean by external inclusion no doubt you would need to create your own script for this

inc_feature.php file assistance

Chuck I am very close to getting this working. My old thumbincluder has been working for years, but I noticed it stopped working when the server switched to php5. Since I must upgrade the server soon I need a solution. Just having a bit of trouble getting inc_features to work. I read through all the posts but there is not one that puts it all together. I have pp6.01 and NO forum integration.

Can you or someone post the proper code? I am just getting a blank box where the photos should be. (Also, will this work with php5?)

I uncommented the link and mysql_select_db line and filled in the variables. Can any provide the proper code for the file with no VB integration (including any commenting out of lines). Getting rather frustrated trying on my own. Must be missing something.

Thanks

Not really sure what your issue is or what your trying to do other than someone was asking about how to alter files to work a different way thus far which is not covered under product support. At least this is what I see thus far in this specific thread here.

Please post real urls to the forum and gallery so we may see the issue and thus respond. Please make sure to use unmodified code so we may give an accurate response based on our default code.

I am trying to get the latest few thumbnail images on my homepage as I have had for the last few years. PHP 5 seems to break thumbincluder, so I have turned to inc_features.php to try and fix it. Once again, I have NO forum integration.

Sample available here:
http://test.dutchchamber.hk/_newsite/
running under PHP4. Photopost is here:

Thanks

Dont honestly know what to tell you there. You can search the mod forums in search of some code that might help you but i would not be able to tell you how to install it. inc_features.php will not work as thats a block written for vbulletin.

http://www.photopost.com/forum/showthread.php?t=116182

thats a random photo block

http://www.photopost.com/forum/showp...5&postcount=13

thats a thumbincluder script.

However any support for those mods you need to post in those specific threads.
