Switching from forum integration?

Hello, is it possible to switch to the built in user integration from forum without loosing any users? The reason I wanna do this is because I am shutting the forum down and I just want to have the Picture part open.

You would need to create some type of import script to import your users from your forum into Photopost and then reinstall Photopost as a standalone install
