half photos not showing

Hello there

I had problem upgraded to 5.6.2, so I started over and manualy reuploaded alot of photos.. and all seemed fiine

the other day I downloaded all photos to do my own watermark, uploaded them back to same data folder and rescanned database in admin page

pp now showing half of the photos only

from over 1000, now I have lil over 500

uploaded the pic in a new folder with same tree and still same issue

the photos are there on server

PS. done deleting all thubmnails and med./min folders, still no luck

how do I make PP see all the photos and update user posts in PP please?

Without knowing what you did we cant really answer this other than to ensure you restore all the data folders and files. If your watermarking changed any filenames when you did this it is going to be an issue here. You will need to check the file and path photopost is looking for and find out if the file exists

no file name changes, I desided to delete data directory and recreated it with all the other directories under it exactly and resotred the photoes, thumbnails, min and med. from my backup before I did watermark'em

still same issue.. some dirctories will have over 300 photos but PP showing less than 200.

I did copy back the same files unchanged

its not a path issue as I did not change any ... some photos do show just fine and can recreate thumbnails.. but not the rest.. user upload count reduced

Well as I suggested before the ones that is missing does it exist where Photopost is looking? You sure its just not an issue of your ftp client skipping files or a permission issue. Compare the url and actual file existence. The photo can not exist where your telling it that it is or the file is corrupt

yes the files are actualy there I see them vis FTP and I thought it might be file permission so I CHMOD everything under data

I go in a folder that has over 300 photos.. but PP only sees less than half of them.. its not path issue either.. as it can rescan and create thumbnails for some just fine.. it just don't see all the files in there

Since I am having some issues with the gallery I have it turned off.. but its open now I will leave it open all day

almost each cat has missing photos.. Cat 512 for example showing 31 and should be 178 in there. Cat 515 showing 134, should be 391 in there

There are no missing photos in there though do you see what I am seeing here. There are no broken links or missing photos so what are you using as a basis to say there are photos missing.

The reason I ask is because as I see and I am sure you can see Photopost is not showing any missing photos. On your index cat 515 says it has 134 photos and yes it does so why are you saying it has 391?

nothing wrong inside the gallery, thats true... however, when in FTP and I go to them folders like data/515 I see 391 photos in there.

and thoes photos used to show in PP.. but now PP just don't seem to see them in the site, and only counts some of them.

Possible you lost photos transfering the site to a new server at some point who knows at this point but Photopost appears fine the number of photos you have uploaded to the photos table is accurately shown in the product.

There can be many reasons more photos show in the data directory. There are three files for every photo also in the data directory a large medium and thumb usually

I know Check about the other directories and I am not counting them

in 515 theres are 391 photos and in thumb directory only the one seen in gallery..

this is not normal..

thanks anyway.. I think I am going to whipe all out and do bulk upload and just start fresh

It is normal as far as the program is concerned

If you have 134 entries in the photos table for category 515 and all show I can not speculate about why you more photos in the data directory. Could be a ton of things like a failed upgrade on your part and you rebuild thumbs and they where deleted. Without lots more info on your actions before this thread not much we can say on this.

You mention to this user that if you "rebuild thumbs" with some of the files unavailable, they will be lost.

I did this

with the files all missing, so I have lost all my photos. The files have been restored in the data directory, but how can I get photopost to re-incorporate those pictures?

You have not lost any files that I see.

Your not going to get files that are in the data directory to show unless you have backups of your photos mysql database where these files might have exisited once upon a time in that table
