| [5.62] Additional field types: how to apply to child subcategories?
I'm using PhotoPost 5.62, integrated with vBulletin 3.6.5, at http://www.cyburbia.org/gallery .
I've created two new "Additional field type:" fields; a drop down for copyright type, and a text box for source/copyright holder information. When I create the fields, and save changes, with "Check box to apply these settings and permissions to all children" checked, the additional field types are not inherited by the child subcategories. Extra text fields and other settings are inherited, though.
How can I cause the "Additional field type" fields to be inherited by child subcategories? Thanks!

Additional fields are inherited to there direct children fine. They are not going to inherit 2 or 3 levels down. You would need to view that level's parent and hit the apply to children box.
Does that make sense?
parent ( apply to children checked here applies to child1 )
--child1 ( You must edit this cat and hit apply to child to put it on child2 )
--child2

--child2 | Tanks for responding. It makes sense, but in my case, it didn't happen that way. The "Extra Text Field #" fields are passed on to direct children, but the "Additional field type" fields aren't.

Thats right in Photopost the developer has not made them passed to children but this is something I have done in reviewpost and classifieds programs
Very easy change
In adm-cats.php find this Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
Add the line in bold

Thanks for posting the mod! Unfortunately, it didn't work. I might just go into the raw database, and see if I can change things from there faster than adding the fields manually.

You may do as you wish but the edited posted above has been tested and works. You can not transfer ones already made

Like I said it does not apply children you already have define. Try adding a new one. If you add the line I bolded above into the code it works

this works with creating new subcategories, and the subcats inherit the the "additional fields". However i have set up my "members gallery" with custom fields and when a user creates an album, the new album does not inherit the custom fields.
Is this possible? thanks

You can only inherit this when you create the additional field. Its not going to pick up old fields at least thats my understanding with the additional fields.
