Question Multi Problems.. Possibly Related... Cookies, Cach I dunno =0(

Ok, I noticed this problem a while back... first is was just the users online/viewing... It never updated... EVER LOL Anyone that had ever visited the Gallery (either one of them) was seemingly locked into the "who's currently viewing" boxes.. and like next to the category (123 viewing).. The numbers never went down but always went up... I tried to fix this without success and eventually just disabled this feature... I know that's the cheap, easy aka lazy way out but hey I'm a busy gal ROFL Anyways... Everything else worked so well that I have yet to go back and fix that yet - or attempt to again rather... but now I notice a new problem (thinking it's related)... The categories themselves dont seem to be updating.. For instance.. Member galleries shown on the home page... Until now I have had this feature disabled... Recently I temporarily enabled it, but then when I disabled it again.. well, it's still showing on the home page... I thought might be a category cache setting... but whether it's on or off - that thing is still there! I am not sure how many people it's showing to tho.. very confusing. And like... Ok Example: 3 Albums... 2 all members have permissions to view and one is just for admins (me)... I can see all three... but when I log out... I can still see all three... I log in as regular member, can just see two, log out can just see two... log in as admin, can see three, log out, still see all three... clear my cookies (still logged out) can just see the two... Cache problem, Cookie problem...? I just don't get it. I have fidgeted with this and that in options and stuff on both galleries (I have two) but no success... any idea? I'm so lost as to what to do. Thanks in advance and sorry about writing a book.

Always -Bree

Please post links and examples. You can show who's online and it will show who is online for Photopost in our who's online and they expire if offline. As far as cache it updates if on based on the timeframe you specify in admin so after you disable it and it still shows its just the cache has not updated

Dah me... I'm sorry about that... Ok links and examples coming right up:

http://smnlikdat.com/Tube-Gallery/

This is my Tube Gallery... If you need to log in for whatever reason... Usernic: Test / Password; test123

There is not 88 visitors viewing the Members Area - Free Tubes category. (You will need to sign in to see this category).. Underneath it there is another category called Platinum Members Area which is saying that 66 members are viewing. This category is limited to Platinum Club Members and I have no where near 66 Club Members period. Under Statistics at the bottom, there is no information on "Users browsing the gallery:" Although I am signed in and viewing. This is weird cause last time I had this feature active, it showed most if not all of my members in this block as signed in and 100's of guests.

Use Photo caching - No
Use Category caching - No

I have also set this to Yes/Yes/1minute & 10 Minutes with no changes.

http://smnlikdat.com/Tag-Central/
This is where we keep all our members tags.. Same log in.. The "Users browsing the gallery" seems to be working on this now... not sure how LOL However the "Member Galleries Individual user galleries - any photo category" is still showing on the home page even tho I turned it off a week ago.

Use Photo caching - No
Use Category caching - No

I have also set this to Yes/Yes/1minute & 10 Minutes with no changes.

I know this has to be a setting I am missing... I also know I am going to feel highly stupid after you point out my errors LOL But I seriously can't figure this out... Also.. In case this matters...

Cookie settings on both Galleries were left default
PP Cookie Path: /
and the other two boxes blank... Now sure if that is correct. Still trying to understand the whole cookie thing *blush*

Thanks for your help! Always -Bree
(Hoping I didn't leave anything out that time hehe)

How come your one gallery on tube gallery does not show our Photopost copyright?

There is no who's online showing in the tube gallery I click that you have posted

As far as your members gallery your electing to show the categories in an alternate format. I would suggest you make sure in showgallery options to make sure it is set to turn off display of this category if you do not wish to show it and then I would suggest also you can remove viewing permissions of this category under admin => edit categories

OMG I did not notice that the copyright was taken out of the Tube-Gallery... I have a hack installed on that page (that shows some modules from the CMPS) Apparently when I installed that on the front page of that gallery (It's not installed on the other gallery yet) it replaced the PhotoPost Copyright.. I am sooooo sorry about that and I swear it was an honest mistake. Thankyou for bringing it to my attention. I am not sure what I need to change on that hack to correct the matter so I am gonna add the copyright manually to the footer. On the rest of the pages (like when viewing photos) PP's copyright is still there and I have no clue how to take it out... since I will be adding copyright to footer myself - PP's copyright is gonna end up showing twice on a lot of pages... I'll figure out how to fix that too if not will just live with it.

Going to try your other suggestions as soon as I get the above issue fixed. Thanks a bunch. Always -Bree

Can you do me a favor Chuck and let me know if this is acceptable (copyright info) http://smnlikdat.com/Tube-Gallery/

Now I just gotta figure out a way to put the CMPS down with the others too... CR is so confusing as I have so many programs running the site and just the one template to make it pretty LOL

If the way I have it is not OK, can you recommend a better way? I seriously need to invest in some Branding Free options and get an over all Credits page to clean that up down there hehe Again, I am very sorry about this trouble *blush*

Always -Bree

Edit: I bought the CMPS Branding Free option so that I could take it off the page... otherwise it appeared that the PhotoPost software was powered by them (misleading)... Think I'll buy the branding free for vB and PP when my bank account isn't dehydrated LOL As those are understandably a "bit" more expensive.
