Dropdown list for categories when categories > 1000+

Currently I have around 400 categories outside of the Members Galleries. Out of these around 10 would be top level categories and the others are sub-level categories.

Now when I go to Admin > Bulk Action > It displays the thumbnails of the images for a category I select and next to it shows all the possible categories in a dropdown list. So if I select the option to display 18 images on 1 page, then it shows that dropdown list 18 times which really increases the page size and makes the page loading slow.

I would be adding categories in the range of 10,000 very soon and that would really slow downs things a lot.

I generally upload a bunch of images in a category called test or working and then move them to the correct category under which it should be put. So when the category count increases to 10,000+, then for every 18 images that I select to display on 1 page it will show me the huge huge dropdown list 18 times and the page size could go to around a couple of mbs in size.

Any solution to this?

I dont know of any solution when having 10000 categories. I mean the whole purchase of admin which means you are shown everything and that dropdown box to be able to move a photo has every category you have permission to move an image to there is not any way off my head to do that other than it is done. You can use the bulk move option which shows just cats and move all images in test to one specific category that is faster but screen which lets you move each individual image to different cats has to show a cat box for every photo since the cat to move to can be different for every photo
