I'm sorry to bring this back up, but I need to be able to sort my photos "backwards" also. Many of my categories are of tennis matches. Without the option to reverse the order the photos appear by default, the first photo someone sees are the players at the net following the match! LOL.
I have access to phpmyadmin, and I'm not afraid to try and add this option to my SORT table, but I'm hoping someone can give me a little step by step on exactly how to do it.

In a category you can set the sort order to most recent and the recent ones will view first in that category.

Right, except I want the most recent to come up last in the category.
Let's say I have "photo01, photo02,...photo10". If I set the Default Sort Order to Latest, photo10 will be the first one to be shown, followed by photo09, photo08, etc. I need them to display exactly opposite of that.
Let's say I'm displaying photos from a baseball game. When shooting the photos I first have inning 1, inning 2, inning 3, etc. I need inning 1 to be the first displayed in the category. But since it's the oldest photo, it appears last in the category. Since the 9th inning was the last photo I shot, it's considered the latest photo and comes up first in the category.
So people are viewing the baseball game backwards.

They did. It was you. LOL.
Thank you, BTW. Quote:

Then just set that to be the default sort in your category editor for that cat |
I was hoping another user who was more experienced with tables could help me to do that very thing... Quote:

If not, that's cool. I can probably find something online to help walk me through it. I'm just concerned that I'll screw up my table.

I don't have a clue how to "add the sort to my sort table". That's kind of been my point. Is it done at a command prompt? Can it be done through phpmyadmin?
But that's beyond the scope of the support you should have to offer, and I certainly understand that.
I'll do some digging around online.
Thank you for your quick responses, Chuck! I appreciate your help.

Yes you would add that query using phpmyadmin when viewing the photopost database. Just make sure the query the user posted your correct table prefix is in the query if its different than the default pp_ .

Perfect!
Doing anything to my databases just scares the you-know-what out of me. But I did it and it's exactly what I needed.
Thank you so much, Chuck!

Yeah no worries as long as you take backups of the database doing things like this are no big deal as the program writes to the database all the time. |
